About YiBoard
Chinese board games are not hard to learn. They are hard to find in a form that respects your time.
Most places that teach Gomoku, Xiangqi or Go want an account before you can see a board. Then a download. Then a tutorial you cannot skip. We think that ordering is backwards: play first, decide later whether you care.
So YiBoard opens with a live board on the front page. No email, no install. The engine runs locally, your progress lives in this browser, and if you ever want it on another device you attach an email and nothing else changes.
Gomoku ships first because it is the fastest way to feel why these games are good. Xiangqi comes next — a real strategic game with pieces most people outside China have never used. Go last, because it deserves to be done properly.
We are a small team. If something is broken, or a translation reads badly in your language, tell us and it gets fixed in the next release.
On physical boards
We are working on a small line of well-made physical sets — Xiangqi in wood, Go stones in glass. Not merchandise with a logo on it. Details when they are ready.

Which board games can I play on YiBoard?
Six: gomoku (five-in-a-row), renju, xiangqi (Chinese chess), Go, reversi and tsumego — plus chess. Each one has rules, a live board and shared game replays.
